As the author of more than 20 books and many articles, I focus philosophically and theologically in my research and writing on the contemporary and turbulent transition from the disintegrating Modern Western Industrial-Colonial Civilization to an emerging Postmodern Global Electronic-Ecological Civilization. I also study and write about the wisdom tradition of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Spirituality in relation to this profound transition.

In my professional work, I am Emeritus Professor of Philosophy & Religion and retired Adjunct Professor in the College of Law from Saint Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida; Visiting Professor (Honor al Merito) at the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano in Puno, Peru; President of Pax Romana / Catholic Movement for Intellectual & Cultural Affairs USA, headquartered in Washington DC; co-founder and Vice-Chair of Catholic Scholars for Worker Justice, headquartered in Boston MA; and a co-founder and Board member of the Spirituality & Sustainability Global Network (SSGN), based in Northern Virginia.
