eco-social philosopher & Catholic theologian
As the author of 17 books and many articles, I focus philosophically and theologically in research and writing on the contemporary transition from Modern Western Industrial-Colonial Civilization to Postmodern Global Electronic-Ecological Civilization. I also study and write about the wisdom tradition of Catholic Social Teaching in relation to this deep transition.
In my professional work, I serve as Emeritus Professor of Philosophy & Religion and Adjunct Professor in the School of Law at Saint Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida; as President of Pax Romana / Catholic Movement for Intellectual & Cultural Affairs USA, headquartered in Washington DC; as Vice-Chair of Catholic Scholars for Worker Justice, headquartered in Boston MA; and as Corporate Secretary for the Spirituality & Sustainability Global Network (SSGN), based in Northern Virginia.
